Ferritic-austenitic (duplex) stainless steel. Combines about twice the yield strength of austenitic steels with high pitting and stress corrosion cracking resistance in chloride media.

01Material Properties

  • Rp0.2 ≥ 450 MPa (~2× 304)
  • High pitting resistance (PREN ≥ 34)
  • Resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking
  • Magnetic
  • Service temperature −50 … +250 °C

02Applications

  • Marine and offshore structures
  • Chemical and petrochemical pressure vessels
  • Seawater piping and pumps
  • Pulp and paper equipment
  • Desalination plants
