02Heat Treatment

Typical values

Normalising
850–900 °C; air cool
Quench and temper (optional)
Water quench from 900 °C + temper 600–650 °C, 2 h
Stress relieving
350–400 °C, 1–2 h
Delivery condition
Wrought/extruded or cast
