15-5 PH Stainless Steel

1.4545 (15-5 PH)

  • EN1.4545
  • ENX5CrNiCu15-5
  • UNSS15500
  • Ticari15-5 PH

High-strength precipitation-hardening stainless steel covered by ASTM A564. Compared with 17-4 PH, 15-5 PH offers better mechanical properties and a cleaner structure. Magnetic, resistant to high temperatures, highly ductile and resistant to seawater.

01Applications

  • Parts operating at high temperatures such as jet engines, gas turbines and reactors
  • Marine, shipbuilding, water treatment plants and oil platforms
  • Chemical industry
  • Petrochemical industry
  • Food industry

02Delivery Condition

  • 35–42 HRC

03Heat Treatment

Typical values

Solution treatment
1020–1060 °C, rapid cooling (air/oil)
Hardness, solution treated (A)
≈ 33–36 HRC
H900 / H950
482 / 510 °C, 1–4 h → maximum hardness
H1025 / H1075
552 / 580 °C, 4 h → strength + toughness
H1100 / H1150
593 / 621 °C, 4 h → maximum toughness and corrosion resistance
Dimensional change
≈ −0.05…−0.1 % on ageing
