  • EN1.2343
  • ENX37CrMoV5-1
  • AISIH11

ESR-grade hot work tool steel combining excellent toughness with hot strength, resistance to thermal cycling and good thermal conductivity.

01Material Properties

  • Very high toughness and ductility
  • Good hot strength and temper resistance
  • Clean and homogeneous microstructure
  • Very good polishability
  • Very good texturing capability
  • Weldability
  • Easy machining
  • Hardenable up to 54 HRC by heat treatment
  • Recommended working hardness 44–52 HRC
  • Good nitriding response
  • Suitable for coating

02Applications

  • Dies and die inserts for all press forging applications
  • High-volume plastic injection molds and applications requiring wear resistance above 48 HRC
  • Aluminium extrusion dies and tooling: dies, backers, bolsters, rings, stems, dummy blocks
  • Secondary areas of die casting dies
  • Die casting dies for relatively low shot counts
  • Low-pressure and gravity casting dies
  • Industrial knives

03Delivery Condition

  • 240 HB, soft annealed
